How to Draw A Snail Easily

How to Draw A Snail Easily

How to Draw A Snail. Many animals are constantly on the move and stay fast to survive the conditions they find themselves in. However, snails take a different approach.

Also, check our unicorn coloring pages for kids.

These alien creatures can come in many different forms and variations, but regardless of their appearance, one thing is true: these little boys are never in a hurry!

Due to the complexity of their appearance, learning how to draw a snail correctly can take time and effort.

Fear not, however, because this guide has you covered!

How to Draw A Snail

Step 1

For this first step of our tutorial on how to draw a snail, let’s start small! First, we draw the two small stalks on the snail’s head.

These are called upper tentacles and have snail eyes at the end. You can draw these tentacles with curved lines with small round buttons at the end.

Another very small curved line then connects them between the tentacles. Finally, you can add a dot on the button of each tentacle.

Step 2

In this next step, we will continue to add the head of your snail design.

All you have to do for this step is draw some curved lines coming down from the tentacles you drew in the first step.

Then you can add two thick lines with dots at the end for the bottom tentacles of the snail’s face.

Step 3

The flat base of the snail is called the foot, and that’s what we’re going to draw in this part of our tutorial on how to draw a snail.

Extend the line from the front of the face into a small ridge at the front of the foot.

Then extend it back in a wavy line until you have the base of the snail. It then folds back on itself to form the arch of the foot.

Step 4

Without a shell, a snail would be a snail, so in this next part, we’ll add one to your snail design.

The shell is drawn with a large rounded line on the back of the snail. It will also have a small dent on the left side of the shell base.

The reference image will show how it should be shaped as you draw.

Step 5

In this step of our guide to drawing a snail, we’ll start building the inner swirling shape of the shell.

This line can extend from the bottom to the middle of the case. This line will be quite curved and rounded, and you will build it up in the next few steps.

Step 6

For this part of your snail drawing, you can continue drawing the spiral shape you started in the previous step.

Extend the curved line from the previous step into an inner spiral shape, as shown in our reference image.

You can also add another small line on the left side of the base for extra detail. Then you need to add some final details, and we can move on to the next step!

Step 7

This step of our guide on drawing a snail is about adding some final details before proceeding to the coloring phase of our guide.

Most of these details are on the shell you’ve drawn so far. These details are drawn with small, curved, sharp lines throughout the shell to give it texture detail.

Then you can add more lines at the base of the snail’s foot to get more detail.

This will suffice for the details in this guide, but before proceeding, make sure to add your final details!

You could draw a background to show what environment this snail is in. You could even draw other little creatures hanging out with the snail!

These are a few ideas you could try, so get creative!

Step 8

You have reached the last step of your snail drawing, and for this step, you can take over and express yourself with your beautiful favorite colors!

For our picture, we chose shades of brown to color the snail.

However, this is just one of many ways you can do this. Snails come in all colors and styles, so you have a lot of freedom in coloring this picture!

Your Snail Drawing is Finished!
